We compare them to false nails in that the beautiful false nail (veneer) is glued over the original nail (natural tooth) to make it look better. As a result, no damage is done to the teeth, and so you will not get pain or sensitivity after the treatment.
Porcelain veneers retain their colour long term and so do not need to be whitened. They are also stronger and more aesthetic than composite bonding and less likely to chip or stain.
Some people go abroad for their veneers, whereby the teeth are shaved down into little pegs. This is extremely bad for teeth and can weaken them and make them painful. We AVOID doing this at Church Lane as we want to keep the teeth strong and healthy whilst also making them look better. We always have our patients’ interests at heart.
